One of the energy industry’s leaders on sustainable energy solutions, Vestas, is heading up their transformation journey with Ardoq as their preferred tool.
The Nordic-based company Ardoq has experienced rapid growth due to their in-demand enterprise solution. The company delivers a cloud-native and data-driven collaboration platform for digital business management, where the users are EAs, managers, and enterprise stakeholders. The customers can document, analyze, and visualize data, and are meant to leverage the insight in strategic business decisions. Vestas is now adopting the tool for digital business management, in order to manage the estate of digital, enable and support digital transformation but also to shape and guide the future state architecture. Carmen Dincu, Enterprise Architect in Vestas, elaborates:
“With the collaboration platform Ardoq, Vestas is aiming to document our organization in order to make smarter decisions faster based on relevant insight. We will be able to build a full as-is overview of all applications and integrations, maturing the repository to better assess risk and reduce unnecessary cost.”

In addition to application portfolio and lifecycle management, Vestas will use the platform to ensure that the large number of projects are shaped according to the company strategy and delivering the promised value by connecting people, technology, and application to business capabilities.
“The future of sustainable energy solutions will be developed alongside rapidly evolving technology. For us to be able to move fast and experiment while simultaneously meeting existing customer demands, we need to rig the company for the digital economy. Building a digital twin of the organization in the Ardoq platform will make it possible to access valuable insight by the touch of a button, enabling stakeholders across the company to visualize and analyze data, and better prioritize company efforts,” Dincu says.
Vestas is now in the process of implementing the tool before making it accessible for relevant stakeholders in the organization in the near future. The company design, manufacture, install, and service onshore and offshore wind turbines – now present in 87 countries. VP of Sales in Ardoq, Ralph Berg, is very pleased to have Vestas on their client list.
“We are thrilled to be working with Vestas and their highly engaged team of architects. Both our companies are working in the frontlines of technology development to ensure a bright future. I know Ardoq was chosen based on our superior graph-based technology which will allow a flexible, data-driven approach where Vestas can meet all of their future business requirements.”
A Platform for the Whole Company
According to Ardoq, enterprise architects are no longer gatekeepers of information, but valuable contributors to strategic business decisions across the company. Berg says Ardoq is to be used by all stakeholders who want up-to-date information in their decision-making process.
“When large enterprises like Vestas buy Ardoq we provide different user interfaces, making it possible for enterprise architects to dive deep into the material – and for other stakeholders to be able to access the platform and find relevant information fast. Hopefully, Ardoq will empower Vestas to drive engagement into the wider organization, which is key in an environment where the fusion of Business and IT is already happening.”
Unlike traditional tools, the data in Ardoq is structured, allowing the solution to automatically create various visualizations of how the business and IT are connected.
"With Ardoq, we want to help companies get a real-time overview, gain control – and bring the number of failed transformation projects down.”
Ralph Berg
“Even though we are well into the era of the digital economy, enterprises are still in the middle of transformation. However, we know that over 70 percent of all digital transformation projects fail to meet their targets, whether it is because of timeline, budget, or goals not met. With Ardoq, we want to help companies get a real-time overview, gain control – and bring the number of failed transformation projects down,” Berg concludes.
